Pop Boutique, Northern Quarter
Founded in 1983, Pop Boutique’s owner Richard Free would spend his week gathering stock by hunting at flea markets and church sales, travelling down to London each weekend to sell the clothing at Camden and Greenwich markets. The first permanent shop was opened in Affleck’s Palace in Manchester, which was, and still is, a mecca for small independent businesses and alternative fashion and culture.

Top Of The Town Vintage was founded online in 2019 by Northern content creator and vintage lover, Sophia Rosemary. As an avid fan of retro style and a seasoned vintage treasure hunter, Sophia wanted to find a way to make shopping preloved easy and accessible by sharing some of the incredible pieces she’d found (it also gave her a great excuse to keep on hunting completely guilt free… Let’s be honest).
